During six decades in academia Jack has transitioned from History, through Health Economics, to Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis and critical theory, geographically by way of the University of Canterbury, Australian National University, University of Kent and the Open University, on the way to LSHTM (and Adjunct Professorship at University of Southern Denmark). Always searching for how, in the words of guru Kenneth Hammond, "Irreducible Uncertainty, Unavoidable Error and Unavoidable Injustice" are best dealt with.
