The TEHDAS Joint Action carried out country visits to map the state-of-play of national health data management systems and their preparedness to join a future EHDS for secondary use. The presentation will present the findings of 12 country visits carried out between December 2021 and December 2022, focusing on different themes (e.g., data sources, access procedures, data governance), with a focus on the overall preparedness and the needs and expectations of countries to be able to join the EHDS

Artificial intelligence (AI) has great potential to transform healthcare, making it more efficient, equitable, and safe. There are hundreds of AI-based tools available on the market today, yet few get adopted into clinical practice because of numerous barriers and challenges. This talk provides an overview of these hurdles and suggests 26 considerations synthesized from the literature, interviews, and workshop with stakeholders who have experience with the process of trying to adopt AI-based tools into clinical practice. We believe that as the barriers and challenges to AI adoption are addressed and overcome, AI will inevitably have a lasting impact on improving healthcare for all.

Despite years of work from both informaticians and IT-architects interoperability within healthcare is still low. This explorative case study performed on a well-staffed public health care provider shows that the involved roles were unclear, processes did not include each other, and that tooling was incompatible.However, interest in collaboration was high and technical advances and inhouse development were seen as incentives for increased collaboration.

Remote Patient Monitoring is a crucial tool to create benefits for the patients, the providers and the payer. Yet there are several barriers on an international level that prevents the wider use of the technology, where reimbursement is still one of them. Boston Scientific has worked together with KOL's, patient organizations as well as trade organizations in trying to help solve the reimbursement. Our Health Economy and Market Access (HEMA) department acrosss Europe has managed be a valued partner in the development of reimbursement guidelines for RPM. Women have been historically excluded from healthcare research and women’s health issues still receive inadequate attention, yet women live more years in poor health and with disability.Digital transformation and a rapidly growing global FemTech market provide new opportunities to transform the lives of millions of women globally and contribute to a substantial social impact and economic gains. However, research on FemTech that provide robust evidence on its value is lacking.In this seminar, based on our ongoing research, we will discuss opportunities and challenges of FemTech and why a rigorous research agenda with targeted research funding is needed. We will also address research methods that include multi-stakeholder partnerships, methods of intersectionality research to address health inequities, and co-creation models to engage women in the co-design of technologies to ensure person-centered outcomes.
