Industry-leading conference turned restrictions into success
NASF2021 is the best digital event to date! – Gorjan Nikolik – Rapobank
When the North Atlantic Seafood Forum was to hold its annual event for the 16th year in a row, the pandemic forced them to cancel the in-person event in Bergen. But instead of postponing or canceling, they did the opposite. They created a virtual conference and decided to take full advantage of digital conferencing possibilities.
The choice of platform fell on InvitePeople through the Norwegian communications agency Apriil.
The transformation to a digital solution did not dampen their ambitions. On the contrary, they launched a comprehensive conference program. In June 2021, the conference was held over three days with a packed program with over 160 speakers, close to two thousand conference participants, digital booths for exhibitors and digital networking between all types of participants. Presentations and lectures were also available to watch after the event. Many participants took the opportunity to view what they didn’t have time for during the conference.
We aimed to stage the best digital conference in the Global Seafood Industry – and the feedback was unanimously positive.
The industry leaders took full advantage of the many functions on the digital conference platform.
With over 3800 messages and 1700 one-to-one private chat messages during the conference, the NASF delegates clearly got in contact with each other. New contacts were made, old contacts were re-established. It demonstrates that digital networking works – when given the right tools.
