Projektet Hälsa och Livskraft kombinerar perioder av sammanhållen intensivrehabilitering vid Valjeviken med ”egen träning” på hemorten. Träningsformen är framtagen framförallt för arbetande eller studerande personer som har MS. Syftet är att förbättra möjligheter till ett hälsosamt liv och att uppnå en hållbar livsstilsförändring. Projektet har visat på mycket goda resultat för träningsformen.Aerob träning innebär att du tränar utan att få syrebrist och mjölksyra i muskulaturen. Kroppen hinner då hela tiden att ta upp så mycket syre att den orkar fortsätta arbeta. Träningen förbättrar den aeroba kapaciteten, som är den maximala mängden syre som kan konsumeras av lungorna och utnyttjas för fysiska aktiviteter. Aerob träning är den träning vi framförallt kopplar till bättre hälsa. Den gör till exempel att vårt hjärta blir starkare, blodtrycket sänks, vi får fler röda blodkroppar, sänkt vilopuls och fler muskelceller. Vi berättar om hur vi arbetat i projektet och om resultaten.
