Med start 2018 har chalmersstiftelsen Stiftelsen Medicin & Teknik (SMT) delat ut Henry Wallmans innovationspris till individer eller grupper som i sin forskning genom multidisciplinär samverkan nått fram till kliniskt nyttiggörande. Nytt för 2023 är att priset delas ut i samverkan med Vitalis!
Priset bygger på kortare nomineringar som skickas till SMT.

En åldrande befolkning för med sig ett behov av att förändra de lokala samhällena. Vi behöver nya lösningar som kan hantera de växande utmaningarna samt ta tillvara på de möjligheter som uppstår med en snabbt åldrande befolkning. Samhällsansvariga på lokal, regional and nationell nivå behöver accelerera implementering av åldersvänliga samhällen med hjälp av ny teknik.         

In order to improve the conditions for clinical research in Europe and to stimulate multinational clinical trials, CTIS - clinical trial information system - has been developed. It is a platform that is ONE single entrance to the clinical trial application and includes both the drug application and ethical approval. Several years of preparatory work and a one-year transition period have ended and from February 1, 2023 CTIS has been put into use and is mandatory to use. CTIS has been built and improved in close cooperation with users (industry and academia) and national pharmaceutical authorities and EMA, the European Medicines Agency.

Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is a serious inherited disease that causes high cholesterol from childhood and increases the risk of cardiovascular events like heart attack and stroke. Unfortunately, many people with FH go undiagnosed.
FHabian is a digiphysical tool developed in Sweden to screen families for FH. The tool, developed by BCB Medical, makes it easy to invite all relatives of an index patient to be screened for FH. It enables seamless screening across healthcare regions, an overview of the number of people invited to screening and a number of people getting tested. It also provides an overview of the results and follow-up and communicates results of testing. FHabian has been in operation in the Stockholm Region since February 2021 and will soon expand to other regions in Sweden. With this innovative tool, it is hoped that more people with FH can be diagnosed and treated early, reducing their risk of serious cardiovascular events.

Nursing practice is transforming at pace to lead improvements in patient outcomes in hospital, primary and community practice. New opportunities are emerging in advanced nursing practice which is a new level of practice defined by knowledge and skills acquisition. There are 4 leadership domains of advanced clinical practice: clinical, professional, health system and health policy leadership. A key component of health systems leadership is driving system change through digital transformation and clinical informatics. The approach to developing advanced clinical practice in east London will be described. Embedded in our approach is the systematic use of our multidisciplinary ‘WeConnect’ digital transformation programme. To implement change and training, a thorough clinical and technical understanding are both needed. This is where the role of the nursing and medical informaticists alongside innovative and engaging advanced clinical practitioners is essential. Key skills for advanced clinical practitioners are the development of autonomous clinical practice based on a foundation of digital skills. These include: use of SNOMED-CT for problem and procedure listing and decision support, analytics and risk based assessments derived from the real world data recorded in the electronic health record. Supporting the journey towards higher levels of digital and SNOMED-CT maturity is a key organisational objective.

Omställningen till Nära Vård är komplex och omfattande. Därför behövs arenor där vi kan lära under resans gång. Denna studie är upplagd för att fungera som medföljning på en ”upplyst” och digital arena för samskapande utveckling och hur vi jobbar i komplexa utmaningar, kopplade till hälsa och omställningen till Nära vård. På arenan fångar vi upp reflektioner som tar sin utgångspunkt i de berättelser som samlas in från deltagarnas (ex. utvecklar-roller) vardag och sammanställs på gruppnivå. Olika handlingar, upplevelser, medvetna och omedvetna val ger oss mönster, hinder och hävstänger som vi kan lära av. Arbetet är upplagt som en studie men vill framför allt bidra till ökat lärande och fördjupad kunskap till studiens deltagare (individer och organisation). På Vitalis kommer ni få höra vad vi sett halvvägs (av totalt 1 år) på resan.

Region Västerbotten berättar om sin automationsresa. Fallgropar och framgångsfaktorer. Och sedan tar vi en titt på pågående robotprojekt (så som migrering till nytt vårdsystem, applikationstestning) och avslutar med framtidsspaningar. Hur kan robotteknik kombineras med Generativ AI (så som Chat GPT) och liknande tekniker.

Within Nordic cooperation and with funding from the Nordic Council of Ministers, a number of projects are underway as part of the Nordic Vision 2030 goals; The Nordic region will become the most sustainable and integrated region in the world. Some examples of ongoing and completed projects are presented during this session. Integrated Healthcare and care (iHAC) 2021-2024 is run by the Centre for Rural Medicine in Storuman Sweden and the Nordic Welfare centre. The project focuses on the citizen perspective in national and regional models for integrated management of healthcare and social care including the data management. Nordforsk runs the more research-oriented project Nordic Commons with a focus on secondary use of health data for research. Nordic Innovation has additional investments related to health data promotion from an innovation perspective.THL in Finland runs the Finnish presidency project 2021-2023, World's Smoothest Cross-Border Mobility and Daily Life Through Digitalisation with a focus on e-prescriptions and Patient Summary. In 2021, the project published the report Baseline study of cross-border data exchange in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The project is partly a continuation of the project the Swedish E-health authority carried out in the Nordic project Care and care at a distance (VOPD) 2018-2021 with a focus on cross border e-prescriptions and patient summaries.This session can be seen as a brief introduction related to what happens within the Nordic Cooperation related to health data.
