Privacy-enhancing technologies (PET) are becoming more important in the context of open data and data sharing approaches. Anonymization as one PET can address privacy concerns by manipulating data in a way that it can't be related to a person anymore. Resulting constrains in data quality need to be thoroughly investigated to ensure that implications drawn from the data are not biased. In our real-world application, we aimed to provide utility-preserved anonymized data while scaling privacy.

Each epidemic and pandemic is accompanied by an infodemic. The infodemic during the COVID-19 pandemic was unprecedented. Accessing accurate information was difficult and misinformation harmed the pandemic response, the health of individuals, and trust in science, governments and societies. Digital health technologies (DHTs) have a great potential to help citizens and health professionals address preventable risk factors associated with diseases and illnesses that shorten human lives. DHTs can facilitate early detection, treatment, management of chronic conditions and support healthy ageing. DHTs also make it possible to shift from reactive to active and holistic delivery of health care services by empowering citizens in accessing their personal health data, monitoring, and managing their own health, based on their own preferences.
