After announcing the winner of the NORDeHEALTH 2024 benchmarking battle, we will end our session with a panel discussion. Christel Bengtner from Inera AB will reflect on the identified differences between patient portals - what are Inera's plans in these areas? What can be learned from other countries implementations of patients' online record access? Then our panel members from Sweden (Rose-Mharie Åhlfeldt and Christel Bengtner), Norway (Asbjørn Johansen Fagerlund), Finland (Sari Kujala), and Estonia (Anna Dudkina) will discuss partnership between research and practice - how do we ensure that the results from research can have an impact on practice? And how we ensure that researchers focus on issues of importance to practice?

Nowadays, patient-centred care is increasingly recognized as essential for effective healthcare delivery- Sweden, Finland, Norway and Estonia have been at the forefront of embracing patient input as a cornerstone of their health information management strategies. We studied with Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish colleagues how people in different countries use patient-accessible health records and what their wishes and preferences are. Throughout this session, we will explore the innovative approaches to incorporate patient-generated data into their health records systems.

In this presentation, we will compare patients who have received mental healthcare's experiences of having online record access (ORA) between Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Estonia. Psychiatric records online are offered to patients in all four countries, and provide the same functionality and similar psychiatry information. The results presented in this talk are based on the NORDeHEALTH 2022 Patient survey consisting of 45 questions, including demographic variables and questions related to users' experiences with ORA. We will focus on the questions concerning positive experiences (benefits), negative experiences (errors, omissions, offence), and breaches of security and privacy.
