In this workshop I will introduce the basic principles of realist evaluation and encourage you to ‘think like a realist’. The workshop will consider why realist methods are useful in evaluating complex interventions and provide an overview of key concepts in realist evaluation, including context, mechanism and outcome configurations. Using small group work, you will be asked to apply realist thinking to some examples.
