Nordic FHIR Base Profiles Passed

Thursday May 16, 2024 11:00 - 11:30 A2

Lecturers: Thomas Tveit Rosenlund, Daniel Karlsson, Mikael Rinnetmäki, Michael Johansen

Track: Interoperability

The work to harmonize FHIR Base profiles of Nordic countries was initiated in Vitalis 2023 (https://invitepeople.com/public/events/edd1776c4a/seminars/ca0805fa9c).

The healthcare systems of all the Nordic countries are very similar. Having a common FHIR base profile specification helps sharing help data across Nordic countries. It also helps apps and systems developed in one of the countries to be adopted in others.

Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden have all published national FHIR base profiles through their HL7 affiliates. There is an ongoing initiative to harmonize the base profiles and to create common Nordic FHIR Base profile specification.

This session will present the current status of this work, plans for future work, and a call for participation for interested parties.
