Transpersoner har diskrimineringskydd både på EU-nivå och i den svenska diskrimineringslagen. Likabehandlingsplaner måste idag omfatta även transpersoner. Ändå är det i praktiken rätt illa ställt med transpersoners lika rättigheter och möjligheter på arbetsmarknaden. Kunskaperna är bristfälliga både hos arbetsgivare och lärosäten. Transpersoner själva vet ofta inte vilket skydd de har och hur de ska kräva sina rättigheter. Och det är ont om svensk forskning och konkreta åtgärdsprogram.
Transföreningen FPES bjuder därför in till en föreläsning om transpersoners situation på arbetsmarknaden. FPES ordförande, Johannes Edenteg, kommer reflektera kring personliga erfarenheter och Lukas Romson, jämlikhetskonsult och medlem, går igenom den statistik och forskning som finns på området. Målet är att uppmärksamma både allmänheten och offentlig förvaltning på situationen och ge goda råd om hur man kan gå vidare i sitt likabehandlingsarbete för att både förebygga diskriminering av transpersoner och främja lika möjligheter för dem på arbetsmarknaden.
Lukas Romson är transexpert och jämlikhetskonsult, specialiserad på arbetsmiljöfrågor med fokus på likabehandlingsarbete, i synnerhet transinklusivt sådant. Hans fokus är personalutbildningar inom arbetslivet, ofta inom offentlig förvaltning. Lukas har mer än tjugo års erfarenhet av transfrågor och har ett flertal styrelseuppdrag i hbtq-organisationer bakom sig.
