We spend about 90% of our time indoors, therefore good indoor air quality is even more important for our health and wellbeing than the outdoor air quality.

In 2021 the WHO published their new air quality guidelines, that recognized air pollution as the single biggest environmental threat to human health and proposed significantly lower limits for several key air pollutants like particulate matter (PM2.5), ozone and NO2 .

These new WHO limits directly affected several new European Guidelines for ventilation and filtration, leading to higher air filtration requirements to better protect people in indoor spaces from the outdoor air pollution.
