Process mining is a relatively new method that connects data science and process modelling. In the past years a series of applications with health care production data have been presented in process discovery, conformance check and system enhancement. In this paper we apply process mining on clinical oncological data with the purpose of studying survival outcomes and chemotherapy treatment decision in a real-world cohort of small cell lung cancer patients treated at Karolinska University Hospital (Stockholm, Sweden). The results highlighted the potential role of process mining in oncology to study prognosis and survival outcomes with longitudinal models directly extracted from clinical data derived from healthcare.

Providing seamless health care to homeless people and refugees is a challenge. Established solutions of medical informatics for information sharing often do not work in these settings. Innovative solutions addressing not only technical issues, but also social and ethical issues are needed for building a trustful digital ecosphere for this vulnerable population. In this workshop, we want to explore the problem in more detail and discuss possible solutions from several perspectives. The workshop is intended to be the starting point to build a European expert consortium that is motivated to further work on this problem and to explore, develop, implement and evaluate possible solutions.

Industry players, the for-profit organizations, are important stakeholders in global and European health and care systems. The profiles of these industry actors vary, as do their business models, resulting in diverse expectations and requirements when it comes to EU regulations in this domain. In this session, we aim to analyze the motivating and demotivating factors that influence industry players' engagement in adopting the upcoming European Health Data Space proposal. We will explore the impact on solution providers specializing in primary data usage, Electronic Health Records and Clinical decision support vendors. Additionally, we will examine the impact on the downstream market, particularly organizations investing long-term in clinical research. Furthermore, we will strive to determine whether industry representatives should actively participate in the EHDS implementation process or simply comply with the legislation once it comes into effect.

Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is a serious inherited disease that causes high cholesterol from childhood and increases the risk of cardiovascular events like heart attack and stroke. Unfortunately, many people with FH go undiagnosed.
FHabian is a digiphysical tool developed in Sweden to screen families for FH. The tool, developed by BCB Medical, makes it easy to invite all relatives of an index patient to be screened for FH. It enables seamless screening across healthcare regions, an overview of the number of people invited to screening and a number of people getting tested. It also provides an overview of the results and follow-up and communicates results of testing. FHabian has been in operation in the Stockholm Region since February 2021 and will soon expand to other regions in Sweden. With this innovative tool, it is hoped that more people with FH can be diagnosed and treated early, reducing their risk of serious cardiovascular events.
