Nordic FHIR Showcase 2023 Passed
Thursday May 25, 2023 11:00 - 11:30 F1
Lecturer: Mikael Rinnetmäki
Track: Informatik/semantik
During the last ten years, electronic health record systems have increasingly developed towards being platforms where third party systems can be integrated. Third party apps offer additional capabilities and features, streamline processes in specific therapeutic areas, bring in patient generated health data, and provide advanced analytics and AI functionalities to get even more out of the data in the system.
The HL7 FHIR specification is an enabler for this. In 2022, HL7 Finland coordinated a FHIR Demo showcase, presenting integrations between more than a dozen FHIR apps and a dozen FHIR capable platforms. The showcase gained great feedback. This year, we’re extending the showcase to cover all the Nordic countries, and presenting the results in Vitalis.
This session presents some of the highlights and learnings from the showcase participants, and lists all of the implemented integrations and the stands of the involved companies where you can gain additional information.

I search for sustainable business models for digital health solutions as the founder of diabetes startup Sensotrend, advance interoperability between healthcare IT systems as the FHIR ambassador of HL7 Finland, advocate for patients’ access to high quality treatment as the chair of the Regional Network of Diabetes Associations in Pirkanmaa, and seek to advance the adoption of new technologies for diabetes treatment as the vice chairman of the Diabetes Unit of Sailab MedTech Finland. I live with type 1 diabetes and hold a M.Sc. in computer science.
Sensotrend makes life with diabetes easier by visualizing data and deriving actionable insights from dozens of medical devices and wellness trackers and facilitating sharing the information with healthcare professionals and peers.
