Socialstyrelsen förvaltar Snomed CT, ett begreppssystem med framförallt kliniska termer. Löpande ansvarar Socialstyrelsen för att nya begrepp som lagts till i den internationella versionen översätts till svenska. Två gånger om året, under en tidsperiod om max tre månader, ska cirka 4000 nya begrepp översättas och få en term som svensk sjukvård känner sig bekväm med. I denna föreläsning får vi höra om principer i översättningen och utmaningen i att få de svenska termerna språkligt korrekta, entydiga och samtidigt smidiga, på det sätt som följer Snomed CT:s regelverk.

På Socialstyrelsen är ett av mina fokusområden förvaltning och översättning av den svenska versionen av det internationella kliniska begreppssystemet Snomed CT.
