Investments in large scale commercial agriculture often mean that people already living in poverty lose their land. Human rights are violated, the environment is destroyed and small holders cannot sustain themselves anymore. Women are often particularly affected. How can small holders’ right to their land be ensured? What is the responsibility of investors? A discussion between investors and representatives from Liberia and Indonesia.

This session is focused on how the political reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the physical health and economic situation differently depending on where and how you live, with linkages to rural or urban areas, class and age in the Eastern Partnership region (Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia). The session also aims to emphasis youth and how they face long-term consequences in terms of closed schools and high unemployment rate and connect to how the outcome of this situation affect segregation in the societies.

Vad kan göras? Välkommen till ett samtal om klimaträttigheter, rätten till klimatsäkra hus och infrastruktur, samt vad som kan göras för att stärka människors motståndskraft för klimatkrisen.
