Children's leisure time plays an important role in their sense of coherence and meaning, serving as a protective factor. For children with strained home or school situations, meaningful leisure time is especially significant. In Sweden, the responsibility often lies with the parents, which means that children in socially vulnerable families risk missing out on leisure activities. There is now increasing awareness of the need for complementary measures.
In Skellefteå Municipality, we are working to address this challenge through the development of Cultural and Leisure Guidance. A key inspiration for this work is Copenhagen Municipality's method, "Fritidsguiderna KBH". This approach has been developed over eighteen years and supports children's introduction to structured leisure activities through collaboration between social services, schools, culture and leisure sectors, and civil society. Join us for a discussion with Rikke Rasmussen, Josefine Rosholm Larsen, Morten Hørlyck Augustesen from Copenhagen Municipality, and Samuel Rönnblom and Ragnar Granstrand from Skellefteå Municipality.
