Denmark is moving toward a healthcare system in which digital solutions, health data, and secure infrastructure play an even greater role. As part of the Danish healthcare reform 2024, Digital Health Denmark is being established – a new nationwide organization designed to strengthen digital development and ensure better coherence across the healthcare system.Digital Health Denmark brings together sundhed.dk, the Danish Health Data Authority, MedCom, the National Genome Center, and a number of joint national tasks from the regions. Certain selected functions and regulatory tasks within the Danish Health Data Authority will remain within the Ministry of the Interior and Health to support work within the ministry’s area.In addition, a number of major digitalization initiatives will be carried out as part of the healthcare reform, including a preliminary analysis of a national data platform.
