Primary headache disorders are a common reason for general practitioner (GP) visits, often leading to delays in diagnosis and treatment. This study evaluates the impact of the Migrevention Digital Headache Clinic in a large primary care practice in Estonia over a one-year period, focusing on key healthcare efficiency metrics such as the reduction of GP visits for headache management, improvements in care speed, and enhancements in overall care quality.

Over the study period, the implementation of the digital clinic led to a 38% reduction in headache-related GP appointments, indicating a shift toward a more efficient and specialized digital care pathway. Additionally, the average time from initial consultation to diagnosis decreased, demonstrating the platform’s ability to accelerate access to appropriate care.

Patient-reported satisfaction scores also improved significantly, with 62% of users reporting a positive health outcomes and better management of their headache symptoms compared to traditional care pathways. The integration of the digital clinic further reduced the workload for GPs, allowing them to allocate more time to complex cases while ensuring that headache patients received timely and specialized care.

These findings suggest that digital headache management solutions can effectively alleviate the burden on primary care while improving the quality and accessibility of headache care. The success of the Migrevention Digital Headache Clinic in Estonia highlights its potential as a scalable model for other healthcare systems looking to optimize the management of primary headaches.
