The future of healthcare is data-driven. Clinical documentation in the form of electronic recording of discrete data, its use, re-use and exchange is vital to providing improved care and generating new real-world evidence.
Successful implementation of SNOMED CT, the largest medical terminology, is widely considered a key ingredient to establish a state-of-the-art digital healthcare infrastructure. To this end, SNOMED International is rolling out a new set of tools that further supports consistent and standardized SNOMED CT implementation. By supporting clinicians with documentation, this could improve speed, accuracy, and accessibility of information. Digital health technology can accelerate data analytics and timely intervention and prevention efforts. Ultimately, this may lead to quality data generation, and improved health outcomes.
During this session, you will:
- Learn how SNOMED CT supports your work as a clinician and how ongoing clinical engagement and networking is key to developing useful tools
- Discover the role of SNOMED CT Implementation Guides in augmenting the build of targeted electronic health record templates
- Walk through the SNOMED CT Nutrition Care Process Terminology (NCPT) Implementation Guide as a prototype of collaborative global clinical engagement that supports digital advancement and real-world evidence research in the area of nutrition and dietetics care.
