Nordic Hackathon Collaborative Care with a Patient Focus: Code, Connect, Coordinate

Lecturer: Monica Winge + panel

Imagine a common place where we drive the development towards a more cohesive care in real time – where IT developers and experts in both health data and care from all over the Nordic region meet. That is what happens during the Nordic Hackathon. Based on the patient's needs, standards such as OpenEHR, HL7 FHIR and SnomedCT are applied to create innovative solutions.
(40 seconds intro in Swedish, presentation in English)

Panel debate - FHIR in the Nordics

Moderator: Vadim Peretokin
Panelists: Emmeli Gross, Grahame Grieve, Michael Johansen, Mikael Rinnetmäki, Thomas Tveit Rosenlund

The FHIR in the Nordics presentations are followed by a panel debate where participants, together with Grahame Grieve, under moderation by Vadim Peretokin, discuss what should be aligned between the countries, and what should be learned as well as un-learned, to help make the Nordic market united under a FHIR interoperability banner.

Welcome to Vitalis, the largest eHealth event in Scandinavia, May 4-7 2026

If you are interested in the Swedish and Nordic market – or in ideas and experiences from the Swedish and Nordic countries – join us at Vitalis 2026 to get the big picture

The Nordic region, Sweden in particular, features world-class healthcare and research institutions, highly skilled hardware and software expertise, a thriving industry and a strong startup scene. Investing in eHealth solutions will be a necessity in order to overcome the challenges faced by society – an ageing demographic profile, mounting costs and pressures on budgets. A part of the challenge is to gather enough information and knowledge to ensure that the correct eHealth and digitisation investment decisions are made, and that new regulatory frameworks are complied with.
