Abdominal trauma Passed

Saturday October 30, 2021 10:30 - 11:30

Lecturer: Zoë Halfacree

Symposium: Smådjur - Akut- och intensivvård

Abdominal trauma can be divided into blunt and penetrating trauma. There are multiple considerations of damage to the gastrointestinal tract or introduction of infection, resulting in septic peritonitis, damage to internal organs resulting in haemorrhage and damage of the body wall. Bite wounds cause a challenging combination of penetrating and crushing injury. External wounds may belie the full extent of underlying injury.
