Ekumeniska följeslagarprogrammet i Palestina och Israel och Kristna Fredsrörelsen har mångårig erfarenhet att arbeta med metoden internationell medföljning/preventiv närvaro. Varje år utbildar vi följeslagare och fredsobservatörer som sedan arbetar med metoden på plats i Palestina och Israel och Mexiko.
Internationell medföljning/preventiv närvaro är en ickevåldsmetod för att ingripa i kontexter där orättvisor upprätthålls av våld och hot. Genom att hindra våld och skapa utrymme för engagemang så kan de grundläggande konflikterna i samhället påverkas och demokratin stärkas.
Ett samtal mellan en följeslagare och en fredsobservatör om metoden internationell medföljning/preventiv närvaro utifrån två kontexter, Palestina och Israel samt Mexiko och hur metoden skapar förutsättningar för demokratin.
Samtalet ger en inblick de kontexter som en följeslagare och fredsobservatör arbetar i och hur det påverkar metoden och dess betydelse.
