Freedom of Religion or Belief in Sweden and the World

Thursday November 26, 2026 11:00 - 11:25 CET Lila scenen - Plan4

Lecturers: Göran Gunner, Linde Lindkvist
Moderator: Johanna Romare

How is freedom of religion or belief monitored in practice? What are the most recent trends in Sweden and globally? In this mini-seminar, Linde Lindkvist and Göran Gunner offer insights into the preparations for international committee assessments. How is information collected and evaluated? Which actors contribute? How can insights from civil society and research be incorporated into the process? The discussion explores both the practical preparations and the role of assessments in identifying gaps and strengthening human rights protection, in particular when it comes to freedom of religion or belief.
