Presentation
SSAB is a global steel company with a leading position in high-strength steels and related services. Our vision is a stronger, lighter and more sustainable world. SSAB aims to be the first, in 2026, to offer fossil-free steel to the market and to largely eliminate carbon dioxide emissions from our own operations in around 2030.

SSAB is revolutionising steelmaking with two unique steels, SSAB Zero™ (made of recycled steel) and SSAB Fossil-free™ steel (using HYBRIT® technology) with virtually zero fossil carbon emission – paving the way for a greener future. With partners LKAB and Vattenfall, SSAB has invented the world’s first fossil-free steelmaking technology. Known as HYBRIT® technology, it seeks to reduce Sweden’s CO2 emissions by 10 percent and Finland’s by 7 percent and will contribute to mitigate climate change. With this offering SSAB will enable customers and end users to become part of the fossil-free value chain.

We have a strong presence in over 50 countries, and the production plants in Sweden, Finland and the US have an annual steel production capacity of about 8.8 million tonnes.
