Jonas is the Director of or the research & Innovation department at Matís ltd. (Icelandic food & biotech R&D) which is a governmentally owned non-profit limited company working on research and innovation in food- & biotech value chains. His education is in fisheries scenes, environmental science, and resource management. Life experience includes having been a fisherman for 15 years, as well as having worked in fish processing and other service sectors. Jonas has been involved in a large number of national and international research & innovation projects, including coordination of two EU projects.

Sanna Laksá has a PhD in Economics from the University of Liverpool with a focus on resource economics. She is a researcher at Sjókovin Blue Resource, an independent research centre supporting sustainable development, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making in the seafood sector. Alongside her academic background, she brings extensive industry experience from the Faroese fishing sector, having served as Economic Advisor and CFO at Varðin, one of the Faroe Islands’ largest fishing companies. Among other tasks, she is currently leading the case study on Northeast Atlantic pelagic fisheries within the EU-funded MeCCAM project, focusing on how the pelagic sector can reduce carbon emissions and adapt to climate change.

Finn began his journey with BAADER in 2013, initially spending over six years in Spare Parts Sales for the North American market. Since transitioning to the role of Product Manager in 2021, he has been operating globally to align BAADER’s portfolio with evolving industry needs and to initiate strategic new developments.
With over a decade of experience within the company, he manages a broad portfolio of processing technologies, including heading, filleting, and skinning solutions for Salmon, Whitefish, and Warm Water species. Additionally, his expertise covers high-speed processing machinery for the Pelagic sector. Through his work, Finn plays a key role in advancing global seafood processing by analyzing market trends and driving the development of new, innovative solutions.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Finn enjoys staying active at the gym or running along the Alster in Hamburg. As a former handball player, he still values a sporty lifestyle. He is married and has one daughter.
