Stop Managing Threats. Start Managing Dependencies

Tuesday October 20, 2026 15:30 - 15:50 Totalförsvarscenen A29:40

Lecturer: Matti Malkamäki

Type: Program

Traditional security management often starts with threats: cyberattacks, sabotage, crime, geopolitical instability or disruption. This session challenges that approach by asking a different question: what does the organisation actually depend on to keep operating?

The talk explores how critical capabilities, shared dependencies, decision-making and knowledge networks shape organisational resilience. It also considers the role professional communities such as ASIS International can play in strengthening access to expertise when organisations face unfamiliar or complex situations.
