Föreläsare: Carolina Garcia SanchezThis session concludes a three-part series on patient access to 1177 Journal, documentation quality, and transparency. It focuses on the growing role of generative AI (genAI) in clinical documentation and communication.
In healthcare, genAI is gaining attention as a potential response to the heavy documentation burden faced by healthcare professionals, supporting tasks such as drafting notes, summarizing information, and adapting language to different contexts. At the same time, patients are increasingly using genAI themselves—to interpret diagnoses, explore health information, and better understand what is written in their 1177 Journal. This session highlights both perspectives, emphasizing the importance of users’ experiences, trust, and real-world contexts when integrating AI into clinical practice.
This is the last of a three-session series. The first part, 'Part I. 14 Years of 1177 Journal - what do people think?' introduces patients' and healthcare professionals' experience with 1177 Journal. 'Part II. How accurate is 1177 Journal? Perspectives of patients and healthcare professionals' explores the accuracy of the information patients read in their 1177 Journal and how it impacts both patients and healthcare professionals.

I am a second‑year PhD student in the Participatory eHealth and Health Data Research Group (PATH) at Uppsala University. My PhD project explores healthcare professionals’ and patients’ experiences of using generative artificial intelligence for documentation and communication, with a particular focus on ethical perspectives.
