Benchmarking Triage – Methods, Results and Pitfalls

Wednesday May 6, 2026 15:30 - 16:00 YE - lokal ej bestämd

Lecturer: Katherine Leung

Digital triage is transforming healthcare, but evaluating its performance is far from straightforward. Different countries and studies use vastly different methods, making it hard to know what “good” really looks like.

In our presentation, we explore the landscape of digital triage benchmarking, highlighting the hidden complexities, surprising pitfalls, and why commonly quoted accuracy figures can be misleading.

We’ll share insights from a deep literature dive that reveal how digital triage tools compare to current state-of-the-art methods and similar devices and why real-world performance can look very different from controlled studies.

Attendees will leave with a clearer picture of how to interpret triage performance, what to look for in benchmarking studies, and where the biggest gaps in validation remain.
