Smart Analytics Services and Software for Forests in a nutshell

Satellites are collecting valuable data on state of the environment – both positive and negative changes caused by climate change such as increasing storms, insect damages and forest fires. We utilize satellite data and combine them with other data sources into smart data to be used for better decision making, more efficient workflows and more sustainable environment.

Bitcomp Oy has long history on providing satellite monitoring based services for large areas. Our Change Detection Service has been in production since Summer 2019 and has been used since that by Finnish Forest Centre for monitoring legality of cuttings in whole Finland.

Our AI based Smart Analytics contains following data sets:

Change detection for detecting cuttings and storm damages. Forest health risk monitoring for detecting e.g. bark beetle damages before they spread wider. Forest management needs by detecting too dense forests. Forest growth and CO2. Forest biodiversity indicators.
