The Norwegian FHIR vital signs profiles have been designed for exchange of the most important vital signs between systems, devices, and healthcare organizations in the national Norwegian healthcare system.The FHIR profiles are designed to be used for searching for and exchanging vital signs observations between software systems and are based on FHIR vital-signs, SNOMED CT terminology and OpenEHR logical models.The presentation will elaborate on lessons learned during the development process.

The strategy is to use all datasharing paradigms with FHIR, where this case is a messagetype called "HospitalNotification" sent from regional hospitals to municipalitie careteams when patients are admitted or discharged.
