Thoracic trauma is always an important consideration in the injured patient, whether this is the primary site of trauma or concurrent injuries. This session will discuss diagnosis and management of pleural space disease (pneumothorax, haemothorax) and diaphragmatic rupture. Bite wounds to the chest present particular challenges. Tips for surgical technique and post-operative care will be covered.
