Lennart Magnusson has a deep and broad experience both within practice and research on Swedish and EU level focusing on the Informal Care context. Lennart is currently Director of a Swedish national centre of excellence (Nka) in the area of Informal Care. The Centre works with knowledge translation activities and development work to support municipalities, health care regions, civil societies and private health and care providers to develop and implement evidence based support for and with carers. Lennart works closely with decision makers, policy makers and politicians at national, regional and local level to influence policy, practice and research. As a Docent at Linnaeus University, Kalmar, Lennart is also active in EU research, currently focusing on young people (adolescences) as informal carers in six European countries. Lennart´s research work includes development of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) applications to support e.g. families with their caring endeavors. As Lennart combines practical implementation work with research, which gives him an excellent knowledge base, he is often asked to give lectures in seminars, workshops and conferences. Lennart obtained his PhD at the University of Gothenburg in 2006.”
