Workshop facilitator: Ingvar Rönnbäck
Panelists: Berhanu Demissie, Clint Arthur Ouma, Kerstin Engström, Nafisa Yusuf, Nancy Mundu, Peace Hillary, Samba Yonga, Yvonne Anyango

The dialogue between the parties in this partnership on the need for working through media against gender based violence and for freedom from violence started before the #metoo campaign. Through an assessement of the situation in each country, and through an identification of needs and opportunities, the parties in this partnership decided to develop an international campaign as well as to develop a media tool-box suited and adapted to the conditions in the african countries involved in this partnership. At this seminar the panelist will tell their story about this project as well as on situations and challenges in their countries. The lead partners and initiators of this project is Ingvar Rönnbäck, founder and CEO of Another Development Perspective Ltd and Yvonne Anyango, founder and executive director of CASDA - Cooperation Arena for Sustainable Development in Africa. Besides of the organisations in the african countries, who will be represented by key-individuals, the project also collaborates with Swedish organisations; Unizon, Talita, The City of Umeå, The County Administrative Board of Västerbotten, The County Council of Västerbotten, Region Västerbotten, Justice Center Västerbotten and representatives for an initiative by men discussing masculinity, violence and gender equality. The seminar will involve the visitors to this seminar in the dialogue. The project is funded by Swedish Institute in the framework of Creative Force Program. The partnership has been grounded during a seedfunding phase, and will now work in a project for two years; 2018-2020.
