The respect of minority groups by the majority, is a democratic challenge in many contexts. Where religion plays an important role, religious actors could either be part the oppressive majority or part of a vulnerable minority.

To assure the respect for minorities’ human rights and the right to influence, robust democratic systems needs to be in place. Together with rights holders and duty bearers, this seminar aims to discuss how these systems can be designed.
