How to think of surveillance and AI in a democratic society?

Tisdag 7 december 2021 16:00 - 17:00

Moderator: Susanne Wigorts Yngvesson
Paneldeltagare: David Lyon, Eric Stoddart

The concept surveillance capitalism, developed by Shoshana Zuboff, means that human beings have become consumers more than humans. It is an effect of the digital society and a particular logic related to structures that is not democratic but economical and hypercapitalistic. With the digital data we form the world, thoughts, opinions, identities we relate to. In five years, will it be relevant to talk about human beings and democracy?
