AI in healthcare - Threat or opportunity?

AI is beginning to be applied on a broad front in society, not least of which we have seen how Chat GPT reached over 100 million users globally in record time and how schools have already started to adapt examinations as pupils and students use AI for both homework and tests. Applying AI in healthcare can open up a world of possibilities, for example there are already applications for text summarization that can become journal documents such as epicrisis and/or letters to patients. But here there are also ethical, social and technical risks that need to be managed. The development curve is exponentially fast and policy makers in both the US and the EU are already working on regulations (such as the AI ACT and executive orders) to avoid variants and abuse.

In this track, we first get to listen to people who have a global perspective, and then delve into applications to achieve results in the clinic, research and system development. We will also reason about threats and fears. How can AI and other advanced tech solutions be used in life science and healthcare to research new drugs and optimize clinical studies, improve diagnostics and develop data-driven solutions for healthcare in an ethical and trust-inspiring way?
