Doptelet® (avatrombopag) is a second-generation small-molecule thrombopotein receptor (TPO) agonist used in the treatment of thrombocytopenia by increasing platelet count. Doptelet is approved by the FDA and EMA for the treatment of thrombocytopenia in adult patients with chronic liver disease (CLD) who are scheduled to undergo a procedure. It is also approved by the FDA for chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) in adult patients who have had an insufficient response to a previous treatment.
