Andfjord Salmon is a land-based salmon farming company located on Andøya in Vesterålen, Norway. The company was founded in 2014 by the founder Roy Bernt Pettersen and is currently in the process of constructing its first pilot land-based salmon farm which will, according to plan, release its first smolt in Q2 2022. Andfjord Salmon was listed on Euronext Growth in June 2020.
Andfjord Salmon plan to build a land-based facility with an annual production of 19k tonnes at Kvalnes. The company expects to further expand capacity in other areas on Andøya and aims to increase production to a total of 90k tonnes, which it has secured rights to land for. Further expansion is subject to the zoning of the land and granting of licenses. Andfjord’s facility is a flow-through system where the seawater used is brought up from 160 meters in the winter and 30 meters in the summer.
Andfjord Salmon currently has a market cap of NOK 1.6bn. The founder Roy Pettersen is through Andfjord Holding the largest owner in the company. Other large shareholders are other Norwegian family offices, Nutreco and private investors.
