Clean Seas Seafood

Clean Seas Seafood is an Australian seafood company that was formed by The Stehr Group in 2000. The company was publicly listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2005, and also on Euronext Growth in 2021. The company’s initial purpose was to grow Southern Bluefin Tuna but later the company decided to refocus on sustainable production of Hiramasa Kingfish. Today, Clean Seas is the global leader in full cycle breeding, production and sale of Yellowtail Kingfish and is renowned world-wide for its high-quality fish. The company is recognised for innovation in Yellowtail Kingfish farming and has become the largest producer of aquaculture Yellowtail Kingfish outside Japan.

Clean Seas is a fully integrated producer with a hatchery, sea farms, processing facility and sales & distribution network. The optimal harvest size for the fish is 4kg+, with the sushi market being the highest paying customers. The company sells its fish as both fresh and frozen (SensoryFresh), and the fish is sold both domestically and to export markets such as Europe, North America and Asia/China.

Clean Seas has the last years gradually increased its production volumes, and at the same time been able to increase the selling price of the Yellowtail Kingfish. The company plan to increase its production further the coming years and has a long-term ambition of 30k tonnes, up from current annual production of ~3k tonnes.
