Ice Fish Farm was founded in 2012 and operates in the East Fjords of Iceland. This year it merges with its neighbor Laxar and is now one of 3 salmon farmers in the country, and currently has licenses of 40k tonnes MAB. IFISH harvested 3.9k tonnes in 2020, and expects steep growth in the next years with a targeted production of 30k tonnes in 2024/25.
Ice Fish Farm started out with production of both salmon and trout in 2012, however, its portfolio has shifted to only consisting of salmon, and Ice Fish Farm is now one of the largest of the four Icelandic salmon farmers. Over the years, the company has had substantial investments in cages and equipment in addition to expansion of the value chain. Now, Ice Fish Farm has ownership in three smolt facilities in Iceland and operates five farming sites.
