Aker BioMarine was founded in 2003 and is a biotech innovator and Antarctic krill-harvesting company. The company has a world leading position in the krill industry and harvests 69% of global harvest volumes. In July 2020 the company was listed on Euronext Growth, and in April 2021 it was transferred to the main list. 

Aker BioMarine is fully integrated in the krill industry and operates within two segments: Ingredients and Brands. The ingredients segment produces and markets ingredients for aquaculture, pet food and human consumption. The brands segment consists of a private label and brand manufacturer of dietary supplements called Lang, and Aker BioMarine’s own consumer brand company Epion. Today, Aker BioMarine’s largest segment is ingredients, but the company is directing significant resources into the brands segment to facilitate growth.

Aker BioMarine started out as a krill harvest and processing company and is today the world’s largest manufacturer of ingredients made from krill. The company is rapidly expanding its business, and in 2020 it launched its human protein segment INVI, its krill oil segment Lysoveta and AION, which is a circular economy company.
