About Agri-Food Tech in Singapore

Strategically located, Singapore is consistently ranked as the world’s busiest port, and the second largest food commodities trading hub in the world.

As a small country half the size of London, most of the land is used for housing, industry, and transport infrastructure, with only 10 % of its local food supply locally produced, importing the rest from all over the world.

Singapore recognises the need for farms space to be maximised and optimised which would require critical enablers from technology and innovation.

As of December 2022, Singapore has allocated a total of USD 220 million to provide funding support for farms to build and expand their production capabilities and capacities, and USD 23 million for R&D in sustainable food production.
