ESVAGT is a provider of offshore safety and support at sea, primarily focused in and around the North and Barents Sea. The company was founded in 1981 by fishermen with experience in harsh conditions, initially providing Emergency Response and Rescue Vessels (ERRV’s) to offshore drilling rigs and production platforms. Today, ESVAGT operates within both offshore wind and Oil & Gas. The company supported the first Belgian offshore wind farm back in 2010 and built its first Service Operation Vessel (SOV) in 2015. ESVAGT employs approximately 1100 people both on-and offshore, and is headquartered in Esbjerg, Denmark, and is privately held by 3i Infrastructure plc and AMP Capital.

ESVAGT’s two main business segments are offshore wind and Oil & Gas, where they are market leaders and Europe’s largest operators of SOV’s. Their fleet comprises modern offshore support vessels with high quality specifications, designed for operations in harsh weather conditions. The current fleet contains 47 purpose-built vessels providing services to Oil & Gas and offshore wind, including 8 (SOVs), 33 ERRV/ERRV Multirole/Multirole vessels, 2 Crew change vessels, 2 Safe transfer boats and 2 Fast rescue boats. The company has 1 further SOV under construction.

In 2021 ESVAGT announced a joint venture with US-based Crowley to provide SOV services for the growing US offshore wind market.
