Aker Carbon Capture is a pure-play carbon capture company delivering carbon capture, utilization and storage technology and services. The company serves a range of industries, including cement, waste-to-energy, steel and oil and gas. Aker Carbon Capture is a spin-off from Aker Solutions and takes advantage from a long track-record within carbon capture. Aker Solutions will also be an alliance partner and a preferred supplier to the company. Aker Carbon Capture was listed on Euronext Growth Oslo in August 2020 and transferred to the main list in June this year. Aker Horizons holds a majority stake (51%), and the company is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

Aker Carbon Capture delivers solutions, services and technologies covering the entire value chain comprising capture, temporary storage and transport to permanent storage. The proprietary carbon capture process uses a mixture of water and organic amine solvent to absorb the CO2. In Q2’21, Aker Carbon Capture launched a new segment, Carbon Capture as a Service, which will serve as an important step towards a full CCS value chain offering. The new segment aims to simplify the CCS process and reduce the total cost, where the company delivers ready-to-use carbon capture plants and handles the carbon from emission point to permanent storage. Aker Carbon Capture has also announced a partnership with Carbfix for combining the complementary technologies and optimise a CCS solution.
