Yara Marine Technologies is a fully owned subsidiary of Yara, focusing on emissions reduction technologies. The company has a global presence with offices in Singapore, China, Sweden, and is headquartered in Oslo. It was established after Yara’s 2014 acquisition of Green Tech Maritime – the first company to offer inline SOx scrubbers to the maritime segment. Yara Marine Technology was later the first company to deliver multi-inlet scrubbers, allowing for treatment of exhaust gas from several engines simultaneously. Today, nearly 500 of the company’s scrubbers are in operation across the seas globally.

Yara Marine’s product portfolio is rapidly growing and now includes a range of scrubber types, wind-assisted propulsion solutions, shore power and related maintenance and training services.

Earlier this summer, Yara Marine acquired Gothenburg-based Lean Marine – a company with a broad offering within intelligent software and hardware solutions for fuel optimization data analysis. Lean Marine’s systems reduce overconsumption of fuel and automate vessel speed, reducing emissions by up to 25%. Its solutions have been contracted for more than 200 ships and will improve Yara Marine Technologies’ software and service offerings.
