Magseis Fairfield is a leading ocean bottom seismic company with global operations, founded in 2009. In late 2018, Magseis entered an agreement with Fairfield Geo to acquire the latter’s seismic technologies segment, forming Magseis Fairfield. This merger created the largest operator in the ocean bottom seismic market, controlling ~50% of the global node pool. The company is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and headquartered in Oslo, Norway.The company is involved in contract seismic acquisition, multi-client surveys, reservoir monitoring and sourcing solutions, equipment sales and leasing. Both “old Magseis” and Fairfield have developed proprietary OBN technologies with the aim to increase the efficiency of node operations and thus lower the cost. The company owns and operates the MASS and ZNODAL nodes, providing flexible solutions for different geologies and project specifications. The company has an asset-light business model and charters in vessels ahead of projects.
In addition, Magseis Fairfield subsidiary “Magseis Renewables” has entered an MOU for phase 2 of the Greensand CCS project offshore Denmark, contributing with its OBN technology and development of cost-effective monitoring technologies.
