REC Silicon is a leading producer of advanced silicon materials, supplying high-purity polysilicon and silicon gases to the solar and electronics industries. The company is the world’s largest manufacturer of Granular Polysilicon (NextSi™) from Fluid Bed Reactor (FBR) technology for solar applications. Moreover, most of today's consumer electronics are made using Signature Silane® – one of the silicon materials REC Silicon manufactures. The company is also the largest manufacturer and supplier of Silane Gas and specialty silicon gases. Accordingly, a highly interesting potential pathway for REC Silicon lies within the usage of silane gas to produce more efficient lithium-ion batteries.

With history dating back to the early 1980s, REC Silicon has over 30 years of experience and best-in-class proprietary technology. In 2013 the REC Group was split into the upstream oriented REC Silicon and the downstream focused REC Solar.
