Blood sampling in hospitals via venipuncture is standard for diagnostics, but has a series of drawbacks. Meanwhile, new medical trends are emerging: moving towards decentralized point-of-care applications, shifting from curative to preventive care, exploration of untapped biological information and improved outcomes via personalized medicine. All enabled by advanced analytical tools and sample collection methods. Our work focuses on finding minimally-invasive alternatives to collect and store a biological sample (blood or other skin fluids), which are simple and convenient enough to be even used at home. Our approach based on microneedle technology provides new opportunities e.g. for larger screening programs, clinical trials, biomarker discovery, and more. We already performed human studies and demonstrated the capabilities of our technology. We are currently seeking collaborators for clinical validation and investors to support our spin-off, Samplimy Medical, with commercialization.
