This is the first time the conference will have climate change and decarbonization on the agenda, and it will give a unique opportunity to see how the different stakeholders in the industry tackle the greatest challenge of our time. The event is split into two panels, each consisting of short presentations or statements followed by a debate. The global seafood decarbonization summit lifts climate change to the top of the agenda on an executive level.


Chair of the summit is Narve Mjøs, Vice President in DNV and chair of the Norwegian Green Shipping Program

Catarina Martins is the Chief Sustainability and Technology officer at Mowi ASA (Norway). Catarina coordinates the implementation of Mowi’s sustainability strategy, Leading the Blue Revolution Plan, which includes the vision of unlocking the potential of the oceans to provide healthy and sustainable food for a growing world population. In addition, she also leads the group’s innovation activities with a team of international experts on fish health and welfare, fish quality and processing, seawater and freshwater production technology and data analytics. Catarina has a PhD in Aquaculture from Wageningen University (The Netherlands), an MBA from The Norwegian School of Economics (Norway), an MSc in Marine Biology from the University of Lisbon (Portugal) and supplementary education on Corporate Sustainability from Harvard University (USA). Before starting at Mowi in 2013, Catarina hold several positions as senior researcher at Wageningen University, at the Centre for Marine Sciences (CCMAR) in Portugal and at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria.

Furthermore, Maria is heading up EYs Nordic EY Consulting Sustainability, as well as part of EYs Ocean Industries team and the European innovation finance team. She has a broad background from asset management, private equity and boards across Export Finance (GIEK), Oslo Stock Exchange, Nordic Trustee and manufacturing companies. She also has experience with strategic innovation and decarbonization across value chains.

Narve Mjøs, Vice President in DNV, and programme director of Green Shipping Programme (GSP)
More than 30 years of experience from research, climate change services, technical advisory, certification, business development and line management in several industries. The last 7 years as leader of the Green Shipping Programme, a partnership program between the Norwegian Government and the maritime industry. The programme has 114 participants from the entire maritime value chain. It has initiated 43 pilots, of which 14 have already been realized or are under construction.
