Aker Offshore Wind is an offshore wind developer, with a focus on floating solutions in deep waters. The company was previously an entity within Aker Solutions, which has more than 40 years of experience from designing, delivering and servicing floating structures. The company was spun out and listed on Euronext Growth in August 2020, following a NOK 500m capital raise. Aker Solutions will be an alliance partner and preferred supplier to the company. Aker ASA owns 51% of AOW through its wholly owned subsidiary Aker Horizons.

Aker Offshore Wind currently has a portfolio of projects in South Korea and California, USA. In addition, the company is pursuing opportunities offshore Norway and Scotland, as well as other global prospects.

Aker Offshore Wind also holds a 47% stake in Principle Power, which has developed the WindFloat technology, a deepwater floating wind foundation concept. WindFloat is one of the more advanced technologies, with a >100 MW portfolio comprising projects offshore Portugal, Scotland and France.
